Considered Clothing: My Perfect Jumpsuit.

My wardrobe is much like my home - I like to combine beautifully made pieces that I’ve saved up to buy to really cherish and feel amazing in peppered with considered high street purchases that provide staples. I really struggle with clothing - a combination of an awkward shaped body, being short, being plus size and neurodiversity that can’t stand any tightness, restrictiveness or certain textures. I also have poor temperature regulation so can oscillate between either very hot or freezing so fabric type is important.

As a busy photographer who spends time on set standing up on tables, crouching down and manoeuvring myself into small places to get that money shot I need clothing that I can move in, looks stylish and of natural materials. I used to love Toast clothes but having changed their sizing (I recently ordered an 18 from them of their Alix trousers and compared them against an old pair of size 14’s - the same) and being frustrated with them never representing larger body sizes (it frustrates me that the narrative is artists are willowy and slim) I went on the hunt for another brand who’s clothing I could rely on.

While Poetry cater to up to size 22 they are also yet to communicate larger bodies in their shoots and visual communication. But I’m really hoping they will address that as I really love their clothing. I ordered a number to items after selling a load of stuff on Vinted anticipating at least 50% of it to go back (as is usual for an online order for me) but I ended up keeping it all.

Today I’m talking about this beautiful hemp and cotton jumpsuit that is still in the sale. I originally bought it in a 20 but changed it to an 18 - the style is meant to be relaxed but I found with the wide legs it just swamped me a bit. The 18 is perfect for me.

It’s incredibly easy to wear and the fabric thick enough for the transitional seasons. I get compliments on it all of the time and it looks great with the legs rolled up and some biker boots. When it’s a bit cooler a waistcoat like the Warwick from NOLA adds style and practicality to the jumpsuit.

This is one of those purchases that I’m going to treasure for a long time and I doubt it will lose value over time too.
