Bath: Explore the City with the Skyline Walk.

dog friendly | where to park | difficulty: moderate, some hills

I found myself in Bath again back in 2019 for a commission with The Positive Planner and I was sticking around for a few days in the hope of getting to know the city a little. As ever with me it pretty much rained for the rest of the trip but there was a clear day in which I wanted to explore as much as possible in a condensed time. Iā€™d come across this Skyline walk and it seemed to me the perfect way to take a whistlestop tour of Bath in what little dry weather we had.

Staring in the centre of the city right by the Royal Spa you pass through the streets (donā€™t forget to look up to take in the architecture!) then youā€™re soon transported into a completely different perspective of Bath having passed through ancient parkland and along the hidden waterways up to a vista across the city. You can absolutely imagine this walk in Georgian times, strolling up in a full dress and a parasol!

In total the walk takes around 1.5 hours there and back and youā€™ll be spoiled with choice where to have lunch on your return to the city. There is a longer version of the walk which takes 3.5-4 hours. Iā€™ve bookmarked it for my next visit.
